To read the range on a pyrometer, you first move the probe tip in a circle and find the center of the circle. Here is a picture:With my pyrometers, I start measuring at about 0.5NUM psi, then I move the probe out to about 10NUM psi.If you are using a pressure gauge (such as this one ), and that gauge is calibrated , you can also measure the pressure inside your pyrometer.The Pyrometer MethodTo measure the pyrometer's temperature, start with a "dry" calibration using the thermometer. The temperature in a "dry" calibration is close to the true ambient.At 1/2 psi, you will feel the thermometer go "hot." At 10NUM psi, you will feel the thermometer go "hot".
